Water Tower Fortress

After rising sea levels brought the collapse of society as we know it, a group of islanders used the opportunity to start a revolt, the island is theirs now, and if you want to pass through this fortress built from a sunken train station water tower, you better get on their good side.
This was made as an assignment for the Preproduction 2 course at Howest DAE. The task was to paint an abandoned water tower based on photographs of Bernd and Hilla Becher. I had the idea for making this by seeing container ships with built in cranes and thinking what if pirates owned those, and also got inspired by the "Bahnwärter Thiel", one of my favourite places in Munich.
